I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me. They say that the Thorn of Camorr can beat anyone in a fight.

They say he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. They say he's part man, part myth, and mostly street-corner rumor. And they are wrong on every count. Only averagely tall, slender, and god-awful with a sword, Locke Lamora is the fabled Thorn, and the greatest weapons at his disposal are his wit and cunning. He steals from the rich - they're the only ones worth stealing from - but the poor can go steal for themselves. All her life, Spensa has dreamed of becoming a pilot.

Of proving she's a hero like her father. She made it to the sky, but the truths she learned about her father were crushing. The rumours of his cowardice are true - he deserted his flight during battle against the Krell. Worse, though, he turned against his team and attacked them.

Spensa is sure there's more to the story. And she's sure that whatever happened to her father in his starship could happen to her. When she made it outside the protective shell of her planet, she heard the stars - and it was terrifying. For three days battle has raged in the snow around the great city of Tar Valon.

In the city, a foretelling of the future is uttered. On the slopes of Dragonmount, the immense mountain that looms over the city, a child is born, an infant prophesied to change the world. That child must be found before he can be killed by the forces of the Shadow. Defeated, crushed, and driven almost to extinction, the remnants of the human race is trapped on a planet that is constantly attacked by mysterious alien starfighters.

Spensa, a teenage girl living among them, longs to be a pilot.

The Complete Tawny Man Trilogy: Fool's Errand, The Golden Fool, Fool's Fate

When she discovers the wreckage of an ancient ship, she realizes this dream might be possible - assuming she can repair the ship, navigate flight school, and perhaps most importantly persuade the strange machine to help her. Because this ship, uniquely, appears to have a soul. Raised and trained in seclusion at a secret fortress on the edge of the northern wilds of the Kingdom of Ashai, a young warrior called Rezkin is unexpectedly thrust into the outworld when a terrible battle destroys all that he knows. A thousand years ago evil came to the land and has ruled with an iron hand ever since.

The sun shines fitfully under clouds of ash that float down endlessly from the constant eruption of volcanoes. A dark lord rules through the aristocratic families, and ordinary folk are condemned to lives in servitude, sold as goods, labouring in the ash fields. But now a troublemaker has arrived, and there is rumour of revolt. Enter the mysterious and exotic world of Kelewan. Despite her grief, as the only surviving member of her house, Mara must now take up the mantles of Ruling Lady.

But she soon discovers betrayal at the heart of her family's loss, and the Acoma's enemies have brought her house to the brink of utter destruction. Kitchen-boy Simon is bored, restless and 14 years old - a dangerous combination. It seems, however, that his life has just taken a turn for the better when he's apprenticed to his castle's resident wizard. As Simon's learning to read and write under Doctor Morgenes' tutelage, forces greater than he could possible imagine are gathering: forces which will change Simon's life - and his world - forever. Following the death of Good King John, Osten Ard is plunged into civil war as his sons battle for control of the fabled Dragonbone Chair - the country's throne as well as the symbol of its power.

Inquisitor Glokta, a crippled and bitter relic of the last war, former fencing champion turned torturer, is trapped in a twisted and broken body - not that he allows it to distract him from his daily routine of torturing smugglers. Nobleman, dashing officer and would-be fencing champion Captain Jezal dan Luthar is living a life of ease by cheating his friends at cards. Vain and shallow, the biggest blot on his horizon is having to get out of bed in the morning to train with obsessive and boring old men. The triumphant conclusion to the Tawny Man trilogy, from the author of the best-selling Farseer and Liveship Traders trilogies.

The moving end to the tale of the Farseers, in which kingdoms must stand or fall on the beat of a dragon's wings, or a Fool's heart. A small and sadly untried coterie — the old assassin Chade, the serving-boy Thick, Prince Dutiful, and his reluctant Skillmaster, Fitz — sail towards the distant island of Aslevjal. Only with the completion of this quest can the marriage proceed, and the resulting alliance signal an end to war between the two kingdoms. It is not a happy ship: tensions between the folk of the Six Duchies and their traditional enemies, the Outislanders, lie just beneath the surface.

But as their ship draws in towards Aslevjal a lone figure awaits them…. I couldn't get enough. Wonderfully flawed characters. Fans of Fitz will love this book. There was nothing I didn't like. Great and rewarding book, and series, but utterly woeful editing! So bad at times that it brings one right out of the story. Editing was not good with many repeated sections and obvious retakes that distracted from the flow.

It was so wonderful, could not stop listening to it! I enjoyed listening while being able to work. Great books, the whole trilogy The only problem I've found was the narrator repeated lines a few times. Robin Hobb always writes an excellent story and her character development is second to none. I have read this book a number of time, but it was a different experience listening to it. I must admit I prefer Nick Taylor, to the narrator of the first trilogy.

Fills in gaps and ties up loose ends. Builds nicely on the previous trilogy. The plot also thickens. Great story. No need for cliffhangers. This is yet another totally brilliant series by Robin Hobb, building perfectly on the previous Liveship Traders and Assassin series. But the audio editors left MANY instances of repeated lines often with the narrator giving a sigh of frustration before starting the line again.

The first time gave me a giggle, but it happens repeatedly throughout the book as though the editing job was rushed. By the end I felt truly annoyed. I've not had an audio book from here with so many issues like this. I hope it will be re-edited. Robin Hobb books so rock and Nick is a fair narrator. Would you listen to Fool's Fate again?

I certainly would. Visa detaljer.
